  • Feral Friends is a collaboration of three animal welfare organizations dedicated to raising the quality of life for feral and free-roaming cats and kittens through spay/neuter assistance, education and adoption. We use the "trap, neuter, return" or TNR model which is the only proven humane method for controlling feral cat populations. The three animal welfare organizations in Feral Friends are Companion Animal Foundation, Humboldt Spay/Neuter Network and Bless the Beasts. Each group assists a specific geographical location. Companion Animal Foundation assists people in Arcata, McKinleyvile, Fieldbrook, Bluelake, Westhaven, Trinidad and on up North to Orick. Humboldt Spay/Neuter Network assists the greater Eureka area and Bless the Beasts assists all areas South of Eureka including Fortuna, Ferndale, Scotia and Rio Dell.

The co-pay for a feral or free-roaming cat is approximately $22-$26 which includes spaying or neutering, a rabies vaccine and ear tipping. Each organization has their own traps that are loaned out free of charge with a refundable deposit.
